Whether you\u2019re a brand new RMCAD student or a seasoned upperclassman, attending <\/span>back-to-school events<\/span><\/a> are essential to getting the most out of your college experience. This fall you have the opportunity to make new friends, hang out with professors, and connect with business professionals at several of our fun, educational, and informational events. Mark your <\/span>calendars<\/span><\/a> and register to attend today!<\/span><\/p>

August 28 \u2013 September 1, 2023 \u2013 <\/b>Welcome Week<\/b>
Kick off the first week of the term with a variety of fun activities, free food, and exciting community events. During <\/span>Welcome Week<\/span>, you can participate in a mix of on-campus and online events including a burrito bar, international lunch, and resource + job fair. Additionally, <\/span>Student Ambassadors<\/span><\/a> will be hosting a field trip to the 40 West Arts District, which is the perfect opportunity to get inspired and check out the art representing our vibrant community.<\/span><\/p>

August 31, 2023 \u2013 <\/b>Radiance Awards<\/b>
<\/span><\/i><\/a>The Radiance Awards are a celebration of individuals from the RMCAD community whose achievements have made a significant impact in the art and design world. This year\u2019s recipients <\/span>Xi Zhang<\/span><\/a> (Fine Arts, 2008) and <\/span>Luke Flowers<\/span><\/a> (Illustration, 2000) will revisit their alma mater to host <\/span>workshops<\/span><\/a>, share their artwork, and accept the prestigious Radiance Award.<\/span><\/p>

Zhang is a world-renowned painter who has exhibited his work in shows at the Songzhuang Art Museum in Beijing, URRA in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Ornaments at the White House. Flowers is an author and illustrator who has worked on more than 75 titles, including the New York Times Best-seller \u201cA Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” poems by Fred Rogers, and \u201cThe Muppets Christmas Carol\u201d storybook.<\/span>

<\/span>September 9, 2023 \u2013 RMCAD Day of Service<\/b>
<\/span>Mark your calendars for one of our largest civic engagement events of the year. RMCAD\u2019s Day of Service, open to students, faculty, and staff, will be dedicated to participating in a variety of service projects in and around Denver to give back to the community.<\/span><\/p>

Participants will sign up for one of four different volunteer opportunities and will work on-site with their group before returning to campus for a complimentary lunch. Keep an eye on the <\/span>events calendar<\/span><\/a> for more information and sign up details!<\/span><\/p>

September 13, 2023 \u2013 Fall Club Fair<\/b>
<\/span>RMCAD\u2019s annual Fall Club Fair is the perfect event to discover active groups, meet club leaders, and register to take part in your favorite activities. This in-person event is a great introduction to student life on campus, and a valuable tool to make the most out of your art school experience.<\/span><\/p>

Can’t make it in-person? Join us on Wednesday, September 20, for our Virtual Club Fair from 4:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. MT on Zoom. Clubs will be available in breakout rooms and you can meet with leaders and move between rooms as you please. Keep an eye on the <\/span>events calendar<\/span><\/a> for more information!<\/span><\/p>

September 15, 2023 \u2013 <\/b>Meow Wolf – Explore Colorado<\/b>
Explore Colorado is an activities package filled with fun, friends, and fabulous finds for new RMCAD students. Whether you\u2019ve lived in Colorado your entire life or are a new resident of our incredible state, the Explore Colorado series will open your eyes and mind to fun, new activities just a short distance from campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Starting off the activities, students will attend Meow Wolf\u2019s newest permanent exhibition, Convergence Station. This exhibition is described as \u201cunforgettable, transformational, and not to be missed.\u201d A student-favorite trip, be sure to register before spots fill up or close by September 15, 2023.<\/span><\/p>
